These images represent bodies of work that were fired in Various wood kilns from 2008 to 2012. Many of the surfaces are a result of the Kiln Atmosphere affecting the clay-bodies and glazes over a period of many days reaching high temperatures. Each firing can have different results and new challenges. Many Times the surfaces cannot be recreated . Most of these pieces were fired in Anagamas in Michigan and Indiana hitting cone 10-12 in a reduction atmosphere. Some of the pieces were fired in a wood downdraft fast firing kiln.
